Be Not Afraid - Engage For Christ

Charismatic Renewal

The Chemin Neuf Community and the International Ecumenical Fraternity present a Net for God film with Dr. Healy on “Pentecost and Baptism in the Holy Spirit” that chronicles historical aspects of the Charismatic Renewal.

Watch an in-depth presentation with papal teachings, poignant testimonies, astounding scenery and an engaging account of events related to the worldwide Renewal.

“Baptism in the Spirit is a life-transforming experience of the love of God the Father poured into one’s heart by the Holy Spirit, received through a surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.”

(Baptism in the Holy Spirit, International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services Doctrinal Commission, 2012)

The International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (ICCRS) mission has been the service and promotion of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) throughout the world, under the action of the Holy Spirit, in close contact with the Holy See. Under Pope John Paul II, ICCRS was directed to interact with the Holy See through the Pontifical Council for the Laity (now the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life).
NOTE – The ICCRS/CF Office will continue to function as the CHARIS Office, in Palazzo San Calisto, after June 9, 2019. The projects planned by ICCRS will be respected and organized by CHARIS.

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans (CCRNO) is a self-supporting office of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. It began in 1969 under the leadership of Fr. Harold Cohen, S.J., and has pioneered Charismatic Renewal activities in this region since then. CCRNO sponsors weekly, monthly and annual events designed to promote the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Catholics throughout the Gulf South. Al and Patti Mansfield serve as liaisons to Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond on behalf of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Mission Statement
CCRNO exists to glorify God, proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord through the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit, and to serve the Catholic Church as its renewal. It desires to renew the experience of Pentecost in the people of God through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the Diocese of Baton Rouge (CCR-DBR) is a ministry of evangelization which promotes growth in faith by openness to the spiritual gifts mentioned by St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 and by the experience of prayer for Baptism in the Spirit (prayer for a further yielding to God’s will for one’s life.)
