The VIGIL Project is a community of artists, musicians, and filmmakers that produce multimedia resources for an authentic encounter with God and growth in prayer.
Easter is the season of new life. We celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus, and the hope of our own salvation in love stronger than death. Like ashes in a furnace impossibly transformed by the flames into a solid piece of wood, the destruction of death has born the fruit of new life. Our slavery to sin and death is ended by the saving power of God. Our longing for eternal life is met by an eternal solution. “Oh happy fault that gained for us so great a redeemer!”
Love is stronger than death. Forty days of fasting give way to fifty days of feasting. Love is stronger than death. Forty days of penitence give way to fifty days of praise.
Love is stronger than death. Forty days in the desolation give way to fifty days of consolation. Let our song celebrate fully the greatness of our Savior Jesus and the hope for eternal life with him won for us by His Passion, death, and Resurrection.

PAST VIGIL PROJECTS
Father Dave Pivonka and the Vigil team were part of a worldwide gathering of the Universal Church to pray on the Vigil of Pentecost. A prayer vigil invitation was sent out to everyone to pray on the eve of Pentecost to ask for the fire and the gifts of the Holy Spirit to come upon the Church in a new and powerful way. A Vigil Guide Booklet and Novena to the Holy Spirit were provided for the Universal Church to be connected in prayer together with one voice in our own countries, communities, parishes, and homes. A central event took place in the New Orleans, LA, area at the Divine Mercy Church and included the celebration of the Holy Mass, Reconciliation, prayer, and songs of praise and worship.
For Pentecost in 2016 over 300 Pentecost vigil events took place across the globe praying for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. For Pentecost in 2017 we knew that God was calling us to do it again! He desires for people all around the world to gather on the Vigil of Pentecost with one main desire; to seek Him and his Holy Spirit. Whether done in your home with just you and your family, your bible study, a prayer group or men’s and women’s groups, or at your parish, everyone was invited to seek the anointing of God.
“Thank you for your new openness to the Holy Spirit. What a blessing it was to pray with you all, near and far and to once again receive the Holy Spirit that strengthens us on our journey. Moving forward we must continue to pray for the Spirit to work in our lives, guide us and strengthen us, so we may be transformed.”
